Ningi Local Government Partners AL-AMALI Foundation for Free Eye Surgeries in Bauchi

The Ningi Local Government Council has entered into a strategic partnership with the AL-AMALI International Relief Foundation to offer free eye treatment and surgeries to residents suffering from various forms of eye defects. The exercise, which is currently ongoing, is being conducted at AMSAD Clinic in Bauchi.
Ahead of the medical programme, the Executive Chairman of Ningi Local Government, Hon. Nasiru Zakaria Dankasuwa, mobilised a medical team to screen patients with eye-related conditions. No fewer than fifty persons were examined during the initial phase, out of which twenty-one patients with mild symptoms received instant medical attention.
As part of its support intervention, the council has taken full responsibility for lodging, feeding, and transporting eight individuals diagnosed with severe eye complications to ensure they undergo surgical procedures under the free treatment scheme sponsored by the foundation. The gesture is expected to relieve beneficiaries of financial burdens associated with specialised healthcare.
Hon. Dankasuwa, while addressing patients during an inspection visit to the clinic, expressed appreciation to the AL-AMALI International Relief Foundation for extending humanitarian support to the people of Ningi. He reaffirmed the council’s readiness to sustain such partnerships, describing health as a fundamental asset for human progress and community development.
He further noted that the local government will continue to prioritise health interventions to reduce preventable blindness and other eye-related conditions among residents, adding that collaborations with reputable humanitarian organisations remain essential to improving access to medical care.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Alhassan Yakubu applauded the initiative, thanking the local government chairman for his commitment to improving public healthcare.
He also offered prayers for Allah’s blessings upon the leadership of Ningi Local Government for ensuring that vulnerable residents receive free and quality medical attention.
