Bauchi APC Youth Forum Backs Bala Wunti Ahead of Governorship Primary

The Bauchi State APC Youth Forum has expressed support for the governorship aspiration of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, describing him as a competent and people-oriented leader capable of repositioning the party for electoral victory in the state.
Speaking during a national press conference chaired by Comrade Saleh Musa Waziri, the forum said growing concerns among grassroots members over internal tensions within the party ahead of the governorship primaries necessitated the engagement.
The group noted that party supporters across wards and local government areas have consistently raised concerns over what it described as a disconnect between political decisions at the elite level and the realities on the ground.
According to the forum, failure to align party decisions with grassroots expectations could weaken trust, reduce mobilisation and negatively affect the APC’s chances in future elections. 
The youth forum said consultations among youth groups, professionals, community leaders and party stakeholders revealed increasing support for Dr. Bala Wunti due to his leadership style, professional background and engagement with young people.
The group described the governorship aspirant as a technocrat with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector through his service at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
It also highlighted his contributions through the Wunti Alkhair Foundation in the areas of education, healthcare, empowerment and community support.
According to the forum, initiatives such as “Conversation with Bala Wunti” have created platforms for youths to participate in discussions on governance, innovation, education and leadership.
The APC Youth Forum stated that Bauchi youths are increasingly demanding leadership anchored on transparency, inclusion and opportunity, stressing that such qualities are important in rebuilding public confidence in the party.
The group called on party leaders to make choices that would strengthen unity, expand the party’s support base and improve its electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 elections.
It further urged youths across the state to actively participate in the political process, noting that the future of leadership would be shaped by those who engage constructively.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and stability of the APC in Bauchi State, while expressing confidence that Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti possesses the capacity to unite the party and reposition it for success.
