Bala Wunti Dismisses Withdrawal Rumours Ahead of Bauchi APC Governorship Primary

By Sani Adamu Hassan

The camp of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti has dismissed reports suggesting that he is considering withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election scheduled for May 21, 2026, in Bauchi State.

In a statement signed by Usman Abdullahi Koli, the group described the report as false and misleading, alleging that it was fabricated by political opponents to misguide supporters and members of the public.

The statement maintained that Dr. Bala Wunti has not rescinded his decision to contest the APC governorship primary election and remains fully committed to participating in the exercise.

According to the statement, the APC aspirant strongly believes in due process and internal democracy and is optimistic of a transparent and level playing ground during the primary election.

The group assured supporters that Dr. Wunti remains focused on his ambition to lead Bauchi State and deliver meaningful development if elected.

It also called on party members, loyalists and supporters to come out massively during the primary election to support his candidature.

The statement further urged the public to disregard rumours of withdrawal and remain calm amid what it described as attempts by “anti-progress elements” to undermine the aspiration of the APC governorship hopeful.
