Wunti Al-khair Foundation Donates Solar Street Lights to Wunti Community

Wunti Al-khair Foundation has provided solar-powered streetlights to various parts of Wunti Community in a move aimed at enhancing security and improving the quality of life for residents.

Speaking during the formal handing-over ceremony at Wunti, a representative of the foundation, Barrister Umar Magaji, said the initiative was part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility to the community.

Barrister Magaji explained that the foundation has over the years invested in projects that directly impact the lives of people, adding that the streetlights project was designed to reduce crime, promote night-time economic activities, and make the community safer.

He assured the people of Wunti that the foundation remains committed to sustaining the provision of humanitarian services in different parts of Bauchi State, with the aim of complementing government’s efforts in community development.

Earlier, the consultant for the project, Engineer Maxwell Patrick, disclosed that six strategic areas within the community have been provided with 400-watt solar-powered streetlights each.

He emphasized that the technology is environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and durable.

Speaking on behalf of the benefiting community, the Ward Head of Wunti, Alhaji Buhari Baban’ya, commended Wunti Al-khair Foundation for the gesture noting that the project would greatly assist in curbing insecurity, ease movement at night, and foster social and commercial activities in the area.

Alhaji Baban’ya further called on other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate the foundation by supporting community-driven projects that would uplift the living standards of the people. He assured that the community would take proper care of the facility to ensure its sustainability.
