Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has commended journalists across the state for their dedication in reporting government activities, describing their work as a true mark of sacrifice and commitment to public enlightenment.

The Governor said the media plays a critical role in shaping public opinion and strengthening democracy through timely and objective reportage.

Governor Bala made the commendation during the opening session of the State Executive Council meeting today at the Government House, Bauchi where he acknowledged the important role of the press in promoting transparency, unity, and development, especially at a time when the state is preparing to host the forthcoming Bauchi International Investment Summit.

The Governor also extended his appreciation to members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, contractors, and the general public for their continuous support to his administration.

He noted that the cooperation and understanding shown by various stakeholders have contributed immensely to the peaceful atmosphere and steady progress the state is witnessing.

The Governor raised concerns over attempts by some individuals to sabotage the planned investment summit, warning that such actions are aimed at undermining the peace and development of the state.

He described the summit as a historic event — the first of its kind under his administration — and urged government officials to take full ownership to ensure its success.

The Governor charged members of the State Executive Council to remain vigilant, focused, and proactive in the discharge of their duties, warning that his administration will not allow anyone to derail its vision for a more prosperous Bauchi State built on peace, good governance, and sustainable development.
