Bauchi Governor sacks commissioner for the second time this year

The Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has relieved the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko from office.

In a statement issued by the Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado said the decision is with immediate effect.

The statement read “His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved a minor change to the composition of the State Executive Council.

“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs & Child Development Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect”

The Governor did not clarified the motive behind the sacking of Baban Takko, but this is not the first time the Governor has been taking such decisions to relieve the members of his cabinet of their appointment.

It could be remembered, the Governor have sacked five commissioner early this which includes Jamila Dahiru, who served as Commissioner for Education; Abubakar Bununu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; Usman Danturaki, the Commissioner for Information and Communication; Simon Yalams, the Commissioner for Agriculture; and Yakubu Hamza, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.
