Healthcare delivery in Ningi Local Government has received a major boost as the council under the leadership of Honourable Nasiru Zakari Dankasuwa distributed medical equipment and essential drugs worth millions of naira to health centres across the area.
As part of the intervention, the Ningi East Primary Health Centre was equipped with a diagnostic scanning machine to enhance tests and medical investigations.
Also, the Tabla Healthcare facility took delivery of a microscope alongside assorted drugs, a move expected to improve laboratory services and treatment of common ailments.
Not left out in the gesture were health facilities in Unguwar Madaki, Dingis, and Gwandabi communities, which received hospital beds, mattresses, and drugs.
Similar supplies were delivered to centres located in Shirgiya, Zazika, and Kujera, aimed at uplifting their capacity to handle patients and emergencies.
The distribution also extended to Zahi and Dana communities. Their health centres benefited from beds, mattresses, and essential medicines, further strengthening healthcare access in remote rural areas where such support is most needed.
In addition to equipment, about fourteen other healthcare facilities benefited from the Drugs Revolving Fund Programme, receiving new drug supplies to ensure steady availability.
The beneficiaries include centres in Gwam, Kauyen Kayel, Iyayi, Guda, Dabar Baga, Limi, Katsinawan Tabla, Unguwar Kanawa, Tamba, Shuwaki, and Kumba.
Likewise, Agwarmaji, Dogon Ruwa, and Rumbu healthcare facilities were also listed among those that received drug supplies, bringing the total beneficiaries to over twenty communities.
While speaking during the handover, Honourable Dankasuwa said the initiative was designed to upgrade primary healthcare services and support state health policies focused on rural communities. He called on health officials to manage the items responsibly and intensify service delivery to residents.
On her part, Chairperson of the Ward Development Committee Forum, Hajiya Binta Uba Shehu, applauded the chairman’s commitment to improving grassroots health, describing it as a timely intervention.
