Bauchi @50: Commissioner Hails Bala Mohammed’s Leadership
As Bauchi State marks its Golden Jubilee, the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, has described Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as one of the most visionary and transformative leaders in the history of the state.
Hon. Bello, who is the Sadaukin Alkaleri, made the remark shortly after the conclusion of the 50th anniversary celebration held at the International Conference Centre, Bauchi.
He said the Golden Jubilee represents a historic milestone that reflects Bauchi State’s resilience, unity, and steady progress over the past five decades.
The Commissioner praised Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration for its commitment to inclusive development, economic diversification, and responsible governance, noting that his leadership has prioritised institutional reforms, infrastructure development, and prudent management of public resources.
According to him, these efforts have placed Bauchi State on a sustainable development path and earned it recognition as a model of effective governance.
Speaking on achievements in the natural resources sector, Hon. Bello highlighted the administration’s responsible approach to harnessing the state’s vast solid mineral resources.
He listed key initiatives to include strengthened collaboration with federal agencies to ensure compliance with mining regulations, mineral identification and verification across the state, promotion of artisanal and small-scale mining, and advocacy for environmental sustainability.
He noted that the initiatives are aimed at boosting investment, enhancing local participation, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods across Bauchi State.
The Commissioner stressed that the milestones align with Governor Bala Mohammed’s broader vision for economic growth, revenue generation, and sustainable development.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the state government in deepening reforms, attracting responsible investment, and ensuring that natural resource development translates into tangible socio-economic benefits for the people.
Hon. Bello concluded by joining members of the State Executive Council, citizens, and well-wishers in celebrating the Golden Jubilee, praying for continued peace, unity, and progress in Bauchi State, while wishing the government and people a memorable 50th anniversary celebration.
