Bala Mohammed Frames EFCC Case as Test of Democratic Fairness

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has described recent political developments surrounding his administration as a test of democratic fairness and respect for constitutional order, insisting that his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party remains unchanged.

Speaking at the Government House in Bauchi after receiving ambassadorial awards on safety and management, the Governor cautioned against what he termed the politicisation of law enforcement processes.

He said attempts to draw his name into court proceedings, despite the constitutional immunity enjoyed by sitting governors, raise concerns about due process and institutional boundaries.

Rather than dwell on party politics, Governor Bala Mohammed presented the situation as a broader issue of governance and democracy, warning that selective actions against public officials could distract elected leaders from delivering on their mandates.

He maintained that his administration has focused on development initiatives and security improvements, which he said should remain the benchmark for public judgment.

The Governor also used the occasion to reassure residents of Bauchi State that government business will continue uninterrupted, regardless of external pressures.

According to him, ongoing projects and policies aimed at peace, stability and economic growth will not be abandoned due to political disagreements.
