ROAD AUTOCRASH: Police intercepts 387 cannabis in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has intercepted about 80 blocks of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis in Bauchi, following a autocrash.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil said this in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday

CSP Wakil explained that the incident which occurred at Wom Village in Toro Local government area consists the District Head of Nabordo (Toro) as well as his family members and his driver

Eyewitnesses confirmed that, a vehicle with an unknown person travelling from Jos, the Plateau State capital tried to overtake a mini car without caution which resulted in colliding with the District Head’s car

“The second vehicle, another white Toyota Corolla with Registration Number GWA-155GW was driven by an individual yet to be identified, who was travelling from Jos, Plateau State towards Bauchi.

“it is reported that, this driver attempted to overtake other vehicles without exercising adequate caution, resulting in a head-on collision with the first vehicle ”

The statement added that, several people sustained injuries including the District Head which suffered a fracture in his left leg, and were rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, for treatment.

Items recovered from the scene includes 387 blocks of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, one black travel bag containing personal effects and two polythene bags with personal items

Others are one black Tecno phone without a SIM Card, a National driver’s license and motor vehicle documents among others
