By Mubarak Aliyu Kobi

The Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Hon. Garba Hassan Bajama, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security, improving social services and deepening community-based development to ensure lasting peace and sustainable growth across the local government.

Hon. Bajama stated this while speaking with journalists during an interactive session, where he identified security, healthcare, education and grassroots governance as the foundation for meaningful development.

According to him, peace and stability remain indispensable to progress, stressing that government efforts can only succeed with the cooperation and support of the people.

“Development is a shared responsibility. When we move together, success becomes inevitable,” he said.

Security Boost in Duguri Axis

Highlighting key security interventions, the Alkaleri council chairman disclosed that the local government has deployed four operational vehicles to the Duguri axis, alongside motorcycles, to enhance patrols, intelligence gathering and rapid response by security agencies.

He explained that the intervention was aimed at safeguarding lives and property, as well as restoring confidence among residents, particularly in rural communities.

Education Infrastructure Strengthened
In the education sector, Hon. Bajama revealed that solar-powered electricity has been installed at the model secondary school in Yelwan Duguri, constructed by the Bauchi State Government under Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

He noted that the initiative is expected to improve the learning environment, support digital education and boost academic performance among students.

Reaffirms Governor’s Anti-Terrorism Stance

The council boss also addressed allegations circulating on social media linking Governor Bala Mohammed to terrorism-related activities, dismissing them as false, misleading and politically motivated.

He emphasized that the governor has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to combating insecurity and has played a decisive role in restoring peace across Bauchi State.
Grassroots Governance and Traditional Institutions

Hon. Bajama further praised the governor’s grassroots-focused leadership, citing the creation of 14 new traditional emirates and the appointment of 142 district heads as a strategic move to decentralize governance and bring leadership closer to the people.

He said the development has strengthened community engagement, improved conflict resolution mechanisms and accelerated rural development.

Appreciation and Prayers

The Alkaleri chairman expressed profound gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for the establishment of the Duguri Emirate and the appointment of new district heads. He also offered prayers for the continued success of the governor, the Bauchi Emirate Council and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu.

He prayed for sustained peace, economic growth and stability in Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole.
